Just thought I’d share something we love doing every Friday afternoon – there are free gigs at the Royal Festival Hall foyer at 1pm and at 5:30pm. The RFH is a great place for kids of all ages, lots of space to run around, and comfy sofas for parents with small babies, not to mention the river and all the museums and galleries around (as well as events at other Southbank venues). Getting there from Maida Vale is really easy, either the 6 bus or the Bakerloo line to Waterloo, where there is stair-free access. – MVM Liory
(For older kids, the Bakerloo to Embankment then a quick walk across the river is great too! )
Tricycle Theatre
“Just a short bus ride from Maida Vale — it took me 15 minutes door to door. We were there very early for their children’s theatre, so we went back down Kilburn High Street and hung out at the great new Starbucks there. The theatre has performances for children, as well as great looking schedule of classes – some even in the afternoon!” – MVM Meghan
The Little Angel Theatre
“The Little Angel Theater in Islington is great! It’s very small but a proper little theater. The guys working the puppets at the front gave a fantastic performance for young and old. Oscar was completely spellbound even though just over two years old at the time and Martin and I loved the way they mixed in grown-up jokes. We would go a lot more often if we had a car. Public transport is not really a good option (Angel Tube is the Northern Line or else bus 205 will get you from Paddington to Angel)… After a performance there are many places along Upper
