Museums which are not too hard to get to from Maida Vale!

Our Favourites…..

Horniman Museum & Gardens
One of our members wanted to make all the Maida Vale Mums aware of the Horniman Museum & Gardens (100 London Rd , Forest Hill, London , SE23 3PQ). “We went there some weeks ago and it took us some 35 min to get there (40 min back) – but it was a truly great, extremely child friendly museum. It is also set in huge gardens – which I am sure will come into their best when it is warmer and not raining! The museum had a variety of exhibitions – but Henrik’s highlight was the acquarium! They had a very good selection of tanks with a variety of smaller fish and other sea creatures. We also enjoyed the nature zone (inter active area for kids) where both boys stroked the fox and batcher on display. Other exhibitions included music (again with inter active area for kids) and African art. The museum had a good café with a variety of foods and again – very very child friendly. Unfortunately no parking on site – but we found easy parking in a side street – 2 minutes away from the entrance. Best of all – it is a free museum!”

We love going to Greenwich for the day. We take the Bakerloo to
the Jubilee to the DLR. Takes just one hour. There is an M&S right outside the tube in case you forgot to bring something. Greenwich Park is gorgeous, and the museums are amazing.
