After hearing so many good things about Peppa Pig World since it opened about six months ago, we finally made it there to see for ourselves. We can excitedly add another thumbs up for this Peppa-themed Theme Park.
We had an overly excited daughter from the moment we ran in to the park. We made it on all the rides that we could go on and more in the rest of Paultons Family Theme Park – plus saw the penguins.
George’s Dinosaur Adventure has a minimum height requirement of 900mm. Our little girl is just under that. We kept her from seeing this one so that there wouldn’t be any tears. Had the same problem with the Wave Runner but luckily she didn’t see that till the very end.
Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter flight had the longest wait – for us, about 20 minutes which proved to be very long for our 2 year old. She really enjoyed the short ride but did not like waiting to get on and off the ride.
The waiting period for this ride didn’t seem to let up during the day when the park emptied out as the afternoon progressed. Top tip would be to have snacks at hand. The kids in the queue with snacks didn’t seem to mind the wait as much.
There were photo opportunities at the school plus a kiss for George and an excited little girl felt like she was watching a live episode with the animatronics at Peppa’s house where they were having pancakes.
Peppa and George came out of the house to meet the children at 11.30am, 2pm and 4pm. She exclaimed that they were giants, but that didn’t put her off getting in there to hold hands, kiss and cuddle.
She really enjoyed the indoor play centre – George’s Spaceship Playzone. She loves Rascals at Swiss Cottage so we were not surprised when she just headed in and ran up to the top of the slide before we could even think about joining her.
Some words of advice: bring snacks to make longer waiting times for rides easier on the children, take your own food (the food on offer was expensive as you’d imagine and not that great), and don’t forget wellies (you’ll need these if you want to jump in the muddy puddles).
Check their calendar for opening times. We went on a Monday, but they were closed on Tuesday and Wednesday because it was the off-season. We arrived at 11am (a half hour after opening) and left at 4.30pm (just at closing time). She managed the whole day without a nap and no major breakdowns. Success!
On the day, adult tickets are £21 each and children under 100cm are free. The drive took us roughly 1 and a half hours each way. Google Maps directions said 1 hour 40 minutes. The toilets have the child insert which always makes my life easier and we had no problems leaving the buggy around the park so we could go on rides.
Would we go back? Absolutely.
