Anyone who braved the weather to make it out to the Rose Garden for our annual Teddy Bear Picnic was in for a big surprise – the weather kindly held out for us just enough to enjoy “lots of wonderful things to eat and wonderful games to play”.
Approximately 50 people turned up to join in the festivities. Those brave souls were rewarded with fantastic entertainment from Kiddikicks and Bridge Arts & Culture Storytelling Adventures as well as vouchers from Moochic Baby.
The toddlers enjoyed running around the Rose Garden as usual and their excitement grew as Coach Sean from Kiddikicks started setting up for them.
A circle was quickly formed with little ones impersonating broad beans, jumping beans, string beans and runner beans. Followed by various forms of balance, dribbling, goal scoring, and more – ending in the normal cool down and passing out of stickers for all the little rising stars.
A quick change of corner in the garden, scarfing down a snack or two to regain energy levels and they were sat down and waiting for Amanda’s storytelling. OK, so not sat down for long, the interactive approach had them up and about in no time pretending to be planes off on their adventure to Africa to impersonating the elephants they saw on their journey.
All in all, we were treated to some amazing entertainment and rest assured, the kids in attendance got their fix of daily active exercise.
Even better, they all enjoyed a clementine as part of their storytelling adventure. One of their five-a-day and exercise, who could ask for more?!?
We cannot thank Sean and Amanda enough.
